A Selection of feedback from my workshops

He is a natural leader and teacher, and is extremely skilled at getting all the children to engage regardless of their ability or experience..... His plans are ambitious, but always achievable, and the results are always hugely impressive. - Jan Smith, Southbank Sinfonia Projects Manager

It was an amazing experience, really good fun - great atmosphere and fantastic music - thank you. - Parent Proms Family Orchestra 2010

I just thought I would write to you to let you know that my kids had such a wonderful time on the music course this summer, they have talked about it so much over the last couple of weeks. - Parent Slough Gifted and Talented July 2010

Super performance in Coventry Cathedral the other week, a real inspiration watching you get that sound out of the students and they loved it too! - Chris Tye ICT in Music Support Officer, Blue Coat C of E School, Coventry

The project Southbank Sinfonia project offered an excellent opportunity for the children to work with professionals, learning new skills, exploring their own creativity and improving their understanding of creating music. Neil was fantastic with the class, extremely knowledgeable and supportive of all the children. He was able to encourage and get the best from the whole class; they learnt so much, had a fantastic time – and are still talking about the performance! - Rachel Phillips, Year 5 Teacher, Archbishop Sumner School

I really enjoyed playing my guitar in a proper orchestra-like group with a very wide range of other instruments.  I especially liked the Brass part as it was truly amazing, in fact I enjoyed it so much it has inspired me to take up a Brass instrument in the future so I can take part in more Orchestral pieces.  I also thought Neil’s conducting was really cool, he made the whole experience fun and thoroughly enjoyable, with his outgoing, enthusiastic personality. - Ryan Collins, 16 (Guitarist), Bluecoat School, Coventry

It was an amazing experience that I enjoyed very much. I really liked playing all together and having the opportunity and freedom to create cool sounding music. I was happy to play alongside professional musicians and I was confident in what I could play which has given me a boost in my other cello playing. It is an experience I will never forget. - Rachel Owen, 15 (Cellist), Bluecoat School, Coventry

I was very impressed with the rapport that Neil and your players established very quickly with our young musicians. What especially struck me was the sense of purpose and enthusiasm our youngsters showed for this project which made considerable demands on them. Also the wonderful role models your musicians were to our youngsters, both as people and students about to enter the music profession.

The benefits for our youngsters are so many from this. It will be one of those rare occasions that they will remember and look back fondly on throughout their lives. I can’t thank you enough for the amazing experience you have all given them. - NORMAN OWEN, Director of Music, Coventry Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College
